Binder's spine title and decorative parallel bars in gilt. Front pastedown includes donors' ex libris (bookplate) of the Boston Public Library, identifying copy as a gift of Joshua Bates, received September 15, 1859. Verso of front flyleaf includes autograph in blue ink script. First title page includes embossed stamp of the Boston Public Library. Printed on antique laid papers featuring horizontal chainlines, vertical wire lines, and watermark visible at spine-edge, just above center of leaf. Includes handwritten page numbers at head-/fore-edge of leaves, in pencil script. Rear pastedown includes remnants of affixed label
